A soldier from the 530th Engineer Company, Fort Stewart, Ga., looks on as a Afghan truck passes by the convoy during a route clearance platoon's break from combat operation. Deployed here in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, the soldiers have been on more than 200 route clearance missions, which often last as long as 72 hours, as they slowly ride through villages and highways, searching for and destroying improvised explosive devices.
