Kim Black, a pediatric nurse and wife of 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division commander, Lt. Col. Kevin Black, was recognized with the Civilian Service Commendation Medal for her actions following a traffic accident April 7. Black, along with Staff Sgt. Joseph Clinkenbeard and Spc. Nicholas Vanosdel also from the Warhorse Battalion, extracted and provided care to victims of a car rollover outside of Fort Hood.
