Seaman Ethan Strey, from Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 5 and Petty Officer David Bailey, from NMCB 3, conduct a joint inventory of a tool kit in Rota. The inventory is a crucial part of the turnover process that consists of inventorying tool kits and materials from both the incoming and outgoing battalions. Once all inventories, inspections, assessments, and project reviews are complete, NMCB 3 will relieve NMCB 5 of all Seabee construction and engineering projects in Europe and Africa and NMCB 5 will return to Port Hueneme, Calif. NMCB 3 is an expeditionary element of U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa providing construction, engineering, and security services in support of national strategy, naval power projection, humanitarian assistance, and contingency operations.
