CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – Army Sgt. Kaitlynn Sweetland-Smith, a human resources specialist with the Brigade Special Troops Battalion, Michigan Army National Guard, removes her operational camouflage pattern top during the swim event of the German Armed Forces Badge (GAFB) for Military Proficiency on April 8, 2019, at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. During this event, service members must swim 100 meters in uniform within four minutes and then remove their uniform in the deep end without support. U.S. Army Central hosts events such as the GAFB to promote unit morale which enhances unit cohesion and reinforces the importance of excellence.
