“The simulated mannequin can mimic abnormal symptoms as well as normal symptoms,” said by Petty Officer 2nd Class Crystal N. Straub, a hospital corpsman with Tactical Medical Simulation Center, III Marine Expeditionary Force. “By running multiple scenarios it helps eliminate mistakes before causing harm to actual patients.” Straub, a Mena, Ark., native, is one of many medical personnel participating in Exercise Cobra Gold 2012. Cobra Gold is a recurring multinational and multiservice exercise co-hosted by the Kingdom of Thailand and the U.S. designed to advance regional security by exercising a multinational force from nations sharing common goals and security commitments in the Asia-Pacific region.
