COMPETITION_SPECIFICS
The Best Warrior Competition is an annual event which brings together the best Soldiers, NCOs, Warrant Officers, and Officers from all over Arizona state to contend in nine, carefully selected, skills lanes, over three grueling days for the rights to be called the best and represent Arizona in the regional and national competitions.
HOW_SOLDIERS_ARE_SELECTED
Monthly boards, annual physical fitness test scores, and events, such as land navigation and ruck marches, are used at the battalion level to select the top candidates who will contend in the annual Best Warrior Competitions.
SUPPORTS_COMMUNITY_AND_NATION
BWC participants must demonstrate their skills in a variety of essential soldier tasks required of more than 8,000 Citizen-Soldiers and Airmen to ensure force readiness as they continue to support our nation with more than 12,000 individual deployments to overseas contingency operations since Sept. 11, 2001.
PROVIDES_TRAINING
Soldiers underwent intensive skills training required for each event in preparation for the competition, which they can then share with fellow Guardsmen, increasing expertise at the unit level and providing invaluable training opportunities.
