190419-N-GC129-0027 SASEBO OUTER HARBOR, Japan (Apr. 19, 2019) Sailors, assigned to Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7 , prepare to pilot a landing craft, air cushion (LCAC) into the well deck of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force amphibious transport dock ship JS Kunisaki (LST 4003) as part of an LCAC interoperability exchange. U.S. and Japanese forces conduct bilateral amphibious exchanges on an ongoing basis in order to improve tactical proficiency and shared understanding of procedures.
