The 1938 Cadillac Model 75 (a full size Cadillac Series 70 V-8 car) varied little from the production model of the era. After the accident the front end was replaced with a 1939 model made by Cadillac-France. Nathan C. Jones, a curator at The Gen. George Patton Museum at Fort Knox, Ky., shows off the cloth covered wired under the hood. Patton, commander of the 15th Army, was riding in this series 1938 Cadillac when he was fatally injured in a traffic accident in Germany, Dec. 9, 1945. (U.S. Army photo by Capt. Olivia Cobiskey)
