Gunnery Sgt. Pardee, a native of Penn Run, Pennsylvania, enlisted in 2005 – she is a veteran of several deployments with the 31st MEU across the Indo-Pacific region. During the training, Marines and Sailors with the 31st MEU rehearsed the fundamentals of CBRN defense to help mitigate the threat of exposure in chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear contaminated areas. The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
