The family of U.S. Army Sgt. Alberto D. Montrond unveils the memorial plaque on the newly renamed Group Support Battalion Headquarters building on Eglin Air Force Base, FL, April 25, 2019. On February 13, 2006, Montrond, a Quartermaster, high mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle mechanic, chemical equipment repairer and Special Forces Support Soldier assigned to GSB, was killed when an improvised explosive device was detonated near his Humvee, north of Deh Rawood in Central Afghanistan.
