U.S. Air Force crew members, 40th Airlift Squadron, input global positioning system coordinates into the Joint Precision Air Drop System, on a C-130J Hercules, Feb. 23, 2012, Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. JPADS uses Global Positioning System to guide the cargo accurately to the drop zone, while the aircraft is safely out of reach from enemy fire.
