In preparation for a sling-load, you must have a grounding rod. A grounding rod is safety components to take the built electrostatic electricity off of the helicopter as it hovers over a sling load site. Sgt. David Groce is driving the rod into the ground as Sgt. Anthony Krusely is holding it in place Feb. 19. Both paratroopers are from Headquarters Support Company, Headquarters Headquarters Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division deployed to Kandahar Airfield.
