Sailors aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz take part in a foreign object debris walk-down on the flight deck. Foreign object debris walk-downs ensure the safety of the personnel and equipment while keeping Nimitz in a constant state of readiness to receive aircraft. Nimitz is conducting a fast cruise for returning to sea for the first time since the ship’s docked planned incremental availability. The ship arrived to Bremerton, Wash., to begin its docked planned incremental availability December 2010.
