    Cpl. Terry Pittman, Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force 12.2 mortarman, drops a mortar as Cpl. Derek Molina, mortarman, ducks in preparation for the blast on Camp Lejeune, N.C., Feb. 15, 2012. Marines practiced firing the M224 Lightweight Mortar System and M252 Medium Extended Range Mortar System during an exercise meant to familiarize them with direct-lay-fire and hand-fire techniques. The training was a part of the SPMAGTF's pre-deployment exercises preparing the Marines for their upcoming deployment to Africa.
