CALLAWAY, Maryland (May 14, 2019) - Coast Guard Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class Thomas Madden, U.S. Coast Guard Station St. Inigoes, is congratulated by James Guy, President, St. Mary's County Commissioners, at the at the Law Enforcement Appreciation Day luncheon and ceremony May 14. Madden was cited for his service in the past year, when he participated in in nearly 70 commercial and recreational vessel boardings, contributing to the overall safety of boaters on the Chesapeake Bay. He also enforced coastal security zones, conducted armed vessel escorts, and provided safety for marine events such as the Breton Bay Boat Races and the Solomons Island 4th of July Celebration. His overall efforts improved both safety and security of the maritime domain in the Southern Maryland area.
