NEW YORK (May 25, 2019) Deputy Commander, Navy Recruiting Command, Rear Adm. Andrew J. Mueller, left, and Vice Chief of Naval Operations, Adm. Bill Moran, right, meet with the people of New York in Times Square during Navy Recruiting Command’s (NRC) Swarm New York evolution in conjunction with Fleet Week New York 2019. Top recruiters from NRC, Navy Recruiting District (NRD) New York and various other recruiting commands from around the nation comprise a 153-person recruiting swarm team. Swarm is a new recruiting strategy in support of the national policy to build a 355-ship Navy. FWNY 2019 takes place from May 22-28, 2019. Held nearly every year since 1984, it is the city’s celebration of the sea services. This year marks the 31st year. FWNY provides an opportunity for the citizens of New York City and the surrounding tri-state area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as see firsthand the latest capabilities of today’s maritime services.
