Spc. James Bossio, native of Modesto, Calif., congratulates Staff Sgt. Brandon A. Zylstra, after receiving the Silver Star from Lt. Gen. Ray Odierno, commander of Multi-National Corps-Iraq during a ceremony Aug. 5. Zylstra, a native of Sully, Iowa, and a member of the 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment based out of Fort Bragg, received the award for his actions April 10, saving his Soldiers lives and redirecting fire against the enemy in eastern Baghdad's Al Fadhl neighborhood.
