PHILIPPINE SEA (May 26, 2019) Sailors assigned to the air department run to recover a holdback bar from the catapult as an F/A-18E Super Hornet assigned to the Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 115 launches off the flight deck of the Navy’s forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Holdback-bars are used to hold back the aircraft prior to its intended launch time. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
