Britt Fitts, mission radio operator, with Civil Air Patrol, uses a radio communicate with pilots preparing to conduct missions in support of the exercise Ardent Sentry May 30, 2019 at Camp McCain, Mississippi. Ardent Sentry is a North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command exercise focused on defense support of civil authorities during a simulated New Madrid Seismic Zone earthquake. As the official auxiliary of the Air Force, the Civil Air Patrol is training alongside the Mississippi National Guard and multiple local, state, and federal agencies to enhance readiness for natural disasters.
