Staff Sgt. Raymond Kokel (left) and Sgt. Bryan Erickson, both assigned to the 24th Press Camp Headquarters, create media press releases in print and video form during a week-long training exercise, March 5-9, 2012 at McGregor Range, N.M. The exercise is a simulated disaster relief that focuses on the operations in the media assistance center and improving communication amongst the individual task force public affairs shops. The 24th has trained and prepared as part of the Department of Defense’s Defense Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Response Force, a 5,200-member joint service, multi-component force intended to provide a rapid, robust, initial response capability to support civilian agencies to save lives, relieve human suffering, and mitigate property damage following a natural disaster within the Northern Command area of responsibility.
