Sgt. Ida Irby (left) and Capt. Leticia Ortiz both assigned to the 24th Press Camp Headquarters, conduct a practice interview during a week-long training exercise, March 5-9, 2012, at McGregor Range, N.M. The exercise is a simulated disaster relief that focuses on the operations in the media assistance center and improving communication amongst the individual task force public affairs shops. The 24th has trained and prepared as part of the Department of Defense’s Defense Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Response Force, a 5,200-member joint service, multi-component force intended to provide a rapid, robust, initial response capability to support civilian agencies to save lives, relieve human suffering, and mitigate property damage following a natural disaster within the Northern Command area of responsibility.
