2nd Infantry Division commemoration at Omaha Beach, Normandy, France on May 31,2019. More than 1,300 U.S. Service Members and 950 military personnel from Europe ans Canada are commemorating the 75th anniversary of WWII Operation Overlord, the Allied Invasion of Normandy, France, on June 6th, 1944, also known as D-Day. Participating military units will take part in more than 70 events from June 1-9, 2019, throughout almost 40 French communities in the region. U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
