Ray Sullivan, a CARA microbiologist from Mendham Township, N.J., helps prepare agents for quantitative polymerase chain reaction in the CARA light lab during the Foal Eagle exercise March 14 in South Korea. Sullivan said analyzing samples in the light lab is much slower with only one sample preparation area verses three in the larger, heavy lab.
