Lori Korczynski, from Glen Burnie, Md., and Bob Lee, from Coleman, Ala., are both chemists with CARA who participated in Key Resolve and Foal Eagle exercises in South Korea. Here, Korczynski uses the glovebox to build a sequence to analyze chemical samples as Lee waits to safely pass her requested items through a side box. “It’s not like CSI where we push a button then get a reading,” Lee said. “It takes about 15 minutes per sample.” Today, the chemists are analyzing 24 individual vials that as well as run an instrument function to ensure the machine is working properly.
