Elk City Lake Park Ranger Allen Zylstra clears debris downstream of the Elk City Lake spillways June 3. The lake elevation is currently about 1 foot above the spillway elevation of 825 feet. Following historic rains, the Elk City Lake staff began 24-hour operations to monitor the dam and ensure it was performing as designed. The staff are managing water releases in accordance with the Tulsa District’s water management engineers’ requests as the engineers try to minimize flood impacts across the entire region.
