190604-N-XK398-1011 SATTAHIP NAVAL BASE, Thailand (June 4, 2019) Royal Thai Navy (RTN) Petty Officer 2nd Class Lexpha Supanut, assigned to the RTN Navy Diver and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Center, prepares for a dive with equipment provided by U.S. Navy Divers aboard the Military Sealift Command Safeguard-class salvage ship USNS Salvor (T-ARS 52) during Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Thailand 2019. The dive was part of interoperability training to familiarize Sailors from both navies with each other’s equipment and methods. This year marks the 25th iteration of CARAT, a multinational exercise series designed to enhance U.S. and partner navies’ abilities to operate together in response to traditional and non-traditional maritime security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
