190604-N-XK398-1034 SATTAHIP NAVAL BASE, Thailand (June 4, 2019) Royal Thai Navy (RTN) Petty Officer 2nd Class Lexpha Supanut, assigned to RTN Navy Diver and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Center, performs surface checks with U.S. Navy divers aboard the Military Sealift Command Safeguard-class salvage ship USNS Salvor (T-ARS 52) before diving over the side during Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Thailand 2019. This year marks the 25th iteration of CARAT, a multinational exercise series designed to enhance U.S. and partner navies’ abilities to operate together in response to traditional and non-traditional maritime security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
