The 642nd RSG, an Army Reserve combat service support unit from Decatur, Ga., significantly contributed to the successful close of Operation New Dawn, supporting the withdrawal of more than 37,000 troops out of Iraq in a six-week period. The 642nd RSG took control of task force deployment and redeployment operations, Aug. 13, 2011.
