A U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon pilot from the 13th Fighter Squadron, Misawa Air Base, Japan, receives fuel from a KC-135 Stratotanker during RED FLAG-Alaska 19-2 near Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, June 18, 2019. The 13th FS is one of various units, to include NATO partners, participating in exercise RF-A. The KC-135 is assigned to the 909th Air Refueling Squadron, Kadena Air Base, Japan. RF-A is an annual U.S. Pacific Air Forces field training exercise for U.S. and international partners to enhance combat readiness of participating forces. Airmen from Misawa and Kadena Air Base joined more than 2000 participants for the Pacific Air Forces-sponsored exercise, which aims to improve interoperability between U.S. and international partners.
