A U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon pilot from the 13th Fighter Squadron, Misawa Air Base, Japan, approaches to receive fuel from a KC-135 Stratotanker during RED FLAG-Alaska 19-2 near Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, June 18, 2019. The 13th FS is one of various units, to include NATO partners, participating in exercise RF-A. The KC-135 is assigned to the 909th Air Refueling Squadron, Kadena Air Base, Japan. Airmen from Misawa and Kadena Air Base joined more than 2000 participants for the Pacific Air Forces-sponsored exercise, which aims to improve interoperability between U.S. and international partners.
