SAN DIEGO (June 22, 2019) Sailors in attendance salute Capt. James F. Elizares, senior security officer with Naval Sea Systems Command (left) and his wife Lori Elizares (right), as they depart from the stage during his retirement ceremony aboard the USS Midway (CV-41) Museum, June 22, 2019. Elizares became the Senior Limited Duty Officer (LDO) of the Navy in 2017. He served as an enlisted Sailor and then as LDO for a total of 42 years of service. The LDO category was established under the Officer Personnel Act of 1947 in support of retention of the critical skills and knowledge of chief warrant officers and enlisted Sailors as well as for fair competition for officers promoting from the ranks.
