A triage card, which all of the volunteers playing simulated causalities hold, helps the medics sort the casualties by precedence for evacuation during the training exercise on Aug. 23. Members of the National Guard from all around the state and civilian volunteers participated in a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High Yield Explosive (CBRNE) Enhanced Response Force Package (CERF-P) training in preparation for certification. The Minnesota National Guard is establishing a new emergency response team to provide immediate capabilities to the governor including: incident site search capability of damaged buildings, rescuing trapped casualties, providing decontamination, and performing medical triage and initial treatment to stabilize patients for transport to medical facilities.
