Col. Kevin V. Doyle, 180th Fighter Wing commander, addresses service members, politicians, business leaders and local media at a groundbreaking ceremony July 10 at the Toledo Air National Guard Base in Swanton, Ohio. The area behind Doyle will be a hangar, but the project also includes a deployment processing facility and a base fitness center. "This project has been the adjutant general's number one military construction requirement for the state of Ohio since 2012 because of its impact on our national security," Doyle said. The under nine-million dollar project will house up to four aircraft. The projected completion date is October 2020.
