Petty Officer 2nd Class Thomas Williams, U.S. Coast Guard International Training Division, Petty Officer 1st Class Cardona Hector, U.S. Navy interpreter, conduct a port vulnerability walkthrough with the Dominican military in Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic, June 27. Task Group 40.9 is deployed as part of the pilot Global Fleet Station to the Caribbean basin and Central America. The mission is designed to validate the GFS concept for the Navy and support U.S. Southern Command objectives for its area of responsibility by enhancing cooperative partnerships with regional maritime services and improving operational readiness for the participating partner nations.
