SINGAPORE—Petty Officer 3rd Class Kyle Carter, a damage controlman assigned to U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf (WMSL 750), smooths down the rough edges while preparing to weld a bracket in a passageway May 6, 2019, prior to the ship resuming its Western Pacific patrol. The patrol, under the tactical control of the Navy’s 7th Fleet, directly supports U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives and supports longstanding partnerships in the region.
