    Pacific Pathways' Jungle Situational Training Exercise

    Spc. Brennan Bialt, who serves as a medic with B Company, 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, Inf. Brig. Combat Team, 25th Inf. Division, lays down cover fire while his comrade Spc. Lorenzo Ponce, also serving with B Company, comes off the firing line during a simulated ambush, which was portion of a Jungle Situational Training Exercise in Labasa, Fiji, August 1, 2019. The training is a portion of Pacific Pathways' Exercise Cartwheel 2019, which aims to strengthen relationships through bilateral military-to-military training, with the Republic of Fiji Military Forces. The exercise builds expeditionary readiness and interoperability, increasing capabilities to face crisis contingencies by developing and stressing units at the highest training levels.
