190801-N-WI365-1011 CORAL SEA (August 01, 2019) – The amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) sails with the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20), left, and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyer helicopter ship JS Ise (DDH 182). Ashland, part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
