U.S. Army Col. Christopher Martin, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Afghanistan Engineer District-North commander, presents the Bronze Star, Afghanistan Campaign Medal and the NATO Medal to U.S. Air Force Maj. Michael J. Brannon from Fort Worth, Texas, April 15, 2012. He served as the deputy chief for training and transition from April 26, 2011 to April 25, 2012. He received the award for exceptional meritorious service for superior leadership and expertise in overseeing a $450 million contract established the conditions necessary for Afghans to assume sustainment responsibilities for more than 3,000 buildings at 325 sites.
