Senior Airman Rafael Lopez-Martinez pulls the hose towards a C-17 Globemaster III before refueling, at Joint Base Charleston - Air base, April 18. The C-17 can hold up to 35,546 gallons of fuel and can carry a maximum of 17,900 pounds and land on runways as short as 3,500 feet which is crucial to resupplying remote areas from the air or ground. Lopez-Martinez is from the 437 Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Gold AMU.
