U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Lua’afe Salanoa, a Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) recovery non-commissioned officer augmentee, digs soil while working alongside local workers on Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands, July 16, 2019. During the recovery mission, DPAA personnel and augmentees spent their days digging and screening in hopes of finding missing U.S. Marines lost during the first allied offensive in the Pacific Theater of World War II.
