ABU GHRAIB, Iraq: The point-man of a patrol from the 1st Mechanized Battalion, 1st Brigade, 9th Iraqi Army Division (Mechanized) remains alert to possible enemy activity in the distance. The 1/1 IA have started conducting independent company-level operations in the Western Baghdad district of Abu Ghraib. This milestone for the fledgling Iraqi Army unit is a testament to their proven proficiency over the last week of smaller unit operations under the mentorship of Coalition Advisors. (Photo by Spc.
