VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Aug. 30, 2019) Air Traffic Controller 1st Class Bruce Gomez, from Virginia Beach, Virginia, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) operations department, receives the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal from Cmdr. Philip Brown, second from left, Ford's air operations officer, during a retirement ceremony for him and his brother Air Traffic Controller 1st Class Bradford Gomez, held at the Carl Brashear Conference Center on Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story.
