Marines with Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct fire control alignment aboard the USS New York docked here, April 29, 2012. The India Battery Marines, attached to the BLT from the Camp Lejeune N.C. based 3rd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, spent the day conducting maintenance while Mount Vesuvius provided a scenic backdrop. The 24th MEU, along with the Navy's Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group, is currently deployed throughout the region as a theater reserve and crisis response force.
