U.S. Army Africa commander, Maj. Gen. David R. Hogg, speaks with Saleh Houssein, secretary general of associated library in Ali Sabieh, Djibouti. Hogg participated in delivering donations of reading and study materials coordinated by a team from the U.S. Army’s 490th Civil Affairs Battalion. Sgt. 1st Class Xochitl Barragan (right) of Fort Worth, Texas, is the civil affairs team leader responsible for coordination with the local library. Houssein is also a teacher at a local middle school. Hogg and a small group of advisors visited U.S. Army troops at the Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa in Djibouti and attended meetings with African Union mission leaders in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, April 24-27.
