    Army Sgt. 1st Class Michael Smith, a Soldier assigned to the World Class Athlete Program checks his time during a lap swim training session at Ivy Gym, Fort Carson Colo. Aug. 9, 2019. Smith lost his arm during a motorcycle accident in 2011, then defied the odds and received a fit for duty status after two years of training and recovery at a Warrior Transition Battalion in Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas.
