    Crewmembers from the Coast Guard Cutter SPAR unveil a memorial created by the crew’s damage control shop in honor of Petty Officer 2nd Class Ricky Reese, Jr., in Kodiak, Alaska, on Sept. 24, 2019.

    The design of the memorial plaque incorporates unique aspects of Reese’s life and service, including crossed anchors which commemorate his rate of boatswain’s mate, being a prudent mariner and a student of the nautical sciences.
