PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept 23, 2019) -- Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Joshua Duggan, chalk and chains an MH-60S helicopter, attached to the "Blackjacks" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 21, to the flight deck of Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) during flight operations. Mercy is currently operating off the coast of San Diego for Mercy Exercise 19-4 (MERCEX). Mercy is one of two hospital ships owned and operated by Military Sealift Command. Mercy conducts operations in the Pacific area of responsibility under the guidance of U.S. Pacific Command and Commander Pacific Fleet.
