190925-N-MD713-1093 PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept. 25, 2019) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 2nd Class Edwin Macaraeg, signals to a MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the “Blackjacks” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 21, to land on the flight deck of Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19). Mercy is currently operating off the coast of San Diego for Mercy Exercise 19-4 (MERCEX). Mercy is one of two hospital ships owned and operated by Military Sealift Command. Mercy conducts operations in the Pacific area of responsibility under the guidance of U.S. Pacific Command and Commander Pacific Fleet.
