U.S. Marines with 3rd Marine Division conduct ship-to-shore movements in Assault Amphibious Vehicles (AAV) before the start of exercise Tiger Strike 19 at Blue Beach, Malaysia, on Sept. 30, 2019. Utilizing AAVs, Marines disembarked the USS Green Bay (LPD-20), landed on Blue Beach, then brought back members of the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) aboard the vessel to participate in the opening ceremony for exercise Tiger Strike 19 and a tour. Tiger Strike 19 allows U.S. Marines and Sailors to train side-by-side with our Malaysian partners, increasing combat readiness and improving bilateral coordination so both nations are best able to respond to crisis in the Indo-Pacific.
