A local resident opens the doors to his vehicle as U.S. Marines with 1st Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment (1/11), speak with the passengers of the vehicle, which was stopped on Route Lyman during a security patrol conducted in the area of operation designated Topeka in Iraq, July 26. The unit is deployed with Multi-National Forces-West in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar province of Iraq to develop Iraqi security forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
